Digital Principles?
Digital self-determination, along with digital integrity, is part of digital sovereignty.
The individual terms are explained in more detail in our blog "Digital Self-Determination".
Digital Principles and the Private User
Digital Sovereignty for private users is primarily the ability to use digital infrastructures, services, and their own data autonomously, without dependence on large platform companies or non-transparent surveillance.
A central aspect is the protection of one's own privacy and personal data, as well as the strengthening of individual digital competence, which enables users to use digital offerings critically and safely. It's about the right and ability to actively exercise and protect digital identity and personal digital data sovereignty.
Overview

The daily digital life of private users is heavily influenced by large platforms and services that collect data. Regulations for digital services aim to strengthen the digital principles and protect consumer rights.
However, Digital Sovereignty also means continuous education and awareness of users to use digital technologies critically and increasingly sovereignly.
